C.A.M.P. "So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say,
'We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.' "
Luke 17:10, NIVWrightsboro Baptist Church Ministries
Our Children's After-school Ministry Program is child care in a Christian environment. Please see our C.A.M.P Web page.Children's Ministry
Aimed at children from age 4 through grade 5, the Bible is experienced through stories, music, crafts, and play. Regular activities include Children's Church, Children's Sermons, participation in special worship services, camping trips, retreats, basketball, and mission involvement.Christmas Events
Operation Christmas Child
In association with Samaritan's Purse, shoeboxes are collected and decorated by church youth, then filled by church families with toys, gifts and personal care items, to be distributed to disadvantaged children throughout the world. The filled shoeboxes of this enjoyable ministry also contain, according to their destination, the Gospel story printed in the language of the recipients.Hanging of the Greens
This elegant special service includes readings and music and the reasons why we decorate at Christmas like we do. And the sanctuary is decorated as the service proceeds! Many church members participate in the ceremony, and it's just so lovely to see that you won't want to miss it! Please see our Hanging of the Greens Web page.
Living Nativity
The story of the birth of Jesus is brought to life in a dramatic and thoughtful fashion with this Christmastime ministry. Blending costumed church members, a straw-filled stable, live animals, angels, and Scriptural narrative, this presentation appeals to all who see it. It takes place outside the sanctuary, facing Castle Hayne Road.Candlelight Services
Wrightsboro Baptist Church offers two Christmas Eve Candelelight Services, each of which also includes the Lord's Supper. The earlier service at 5:00 p.m. is directed primarily at children, though it is a joy for adults as well. The later service at 11:00 p.m. includes traditonal Christmas hymns.
Community Worship Services
Twice a year a group of eight neighborhood churches gets together for a combined worship service. You don't want to miss these special events! Participating churches take turns hosting a service or giving the message, and the combined choirs create magnificant music. Look for this service in February, and again the evening before Thanksgiving. A thoughtful gesture of appreciation can be made in the way of a contribution to the food pantry of the host church. Participating Churches include Wrightsboro Baptist, Bethany Presbyterian, Mt. Holly Missionary Baptist, Olivet Baptist, St. James A.M.E., St. John A.M.E., and Wrightsboro United Methodist.
Discipleship
Discipleship and growth in one's spiritual life are exciting adventures! Training opportunities are offered through Growth Groups on Wednesday evenings, and Disciple classes on Sundays. Classes for New Christians, and New-Member Orientation, are provided as needed.Easter Events
Discover our Easter presentations at the "Living Cross" Web page.Fall Festival
A blessed alternative to halloween, our Fall Festival is a chance for everyone to dress up in costumes and enjoy "Trunk-a-Treat." Children can have supper, a hayride, and the fun of showing off their costumes as they walk from car to car for candy. With as many adults present as children, in a well-lit area away from traffic, this event is a safe and delightful treat!G.R.O.W.
"God Rewards Our Works." G.R.O.W. is a combination of community outreach and congregation inreach, evangelizing outside the church as well as contacting church members. Each of four teams meets just once a month, with some participants visiting homes, some making telephone calls, and others writing notes of welcome, prayer, and encouragement. The Lord does some amazing work on these evenings!
